Fire Prevention

Welcome the home page for Red Lodge Fire Department’s Fire Prevention Program (FPP). Our goal is to reduce the likelihood of the loss of life and or property due to fire within The City of Red Lodge and the Red Lodge Rural Fire District.

The FPP works to develop and implement methods to reduce the likelihood of loss of life and or property due to fire. In doing so, comprehensive plans are maintained to sustain consistent inspections of commercial property, wildland / urban interface (WUI) areas, and residential and commercial real estate developments. Additionally, the FPP develops and maintains public education, hazard assessment, fuel mitigation, and FireWise community development programs. The FPP is managed by the Assistant Chief - Fire Prevention under the direction of the Chief of the department.

We work to accomplish these goals in several ways:

             • Fire Inspections and Code Enforcement

             • Wildland Fire Mitigation Projects

             • Public Education

             • New Construction Review
